Grey River Flood Wall

Take a stroll along the flood wall; there is a variety of walking options from half an hour to three hour walks. Walk around the fishing harbour, the lagoon or river mouth - check out shipwreck point on the Blaketown side of the river mouth.

Point Elizabeth walkway

This track follows an old water race built by 19th century miners to sluice their gold claims. With views of Mt. Cook & the Paparoa mountain ranges, walkers may also be able to spot Hector’s dolphins & New Zealand fur seals from the clifftop lookout, while native birds are plentiful along the rest of the walkway.

Westland Recreation Centre

The Westland Recreation Centre is the sports & recreation hub of Greymouth & the wider region. It has swimming pools, hydro slides, hot tub, sauna, gym, group fitness classes & a sports stadium.

Monteith's Brewery

Check out something from the locally inspired menu, explore the range of craft beers & ciders with a tasting tray or shop all things Monteith's. While here you can also go on a 45 minute, guided brewery tour to learn all about the brewery process.

Shantytown

Shantytown is a historical township within the native rainforest. If you are travelling with children you should visit Shantytown as it will stick in their memories forever. Steam train rides & gold panning are popular activities.

18-hole mini golf course fun for all, whether you're young or old, a larger group or just 2 of you.

West Coast Wilderness Trail

An easy track that runs along the sea side in front of our park all the way down to Ross that is suitable for riders of all abilities, with options to do day trips out to Kumara or spend a couple days riding the 136km to Ross.

Hokitika Gorge

Just a short 15 minute walk offers views of the turquoise blue water that runs through the Hokitika gorge.

Tree Top Walk

15 minutes drive South of Hokitikia you'll find the tree top walk, offering visitors the chance to take a leisurely 45 - 60 minute walk amongst the heights of the West Coast Rainforest.

Lake Mahinapua

Choose between a nice walk around this shallow lake or a longer bike ride following old logging tramlines, both suitable options for all levels of ability.

Lake Kaniere

One of the most beautiful lakes on the West Coast, lake Kaniere offers opportunities for water activities, walks & picnics among others.

Coal Creek Falls

This is an easy 3.6km walk through the bush to a stunning waterfall. You can even jump in for a little swim.

Pancake Rocks & Blow Holes

Punakaiki is 42kms north of Greymouth, driving up the beautiful Coast road. Formations of limestone rock give the illusion of a 'pancake stack' & at high tide, the Tasman sea pushes water up & out of the blow holes.

Truman Track

This track is a local favourite! A short walk through the native rainforest brings you beachside, where at low tide there is endless opportunity for exploring the coastline & rockpools.

Paparoa Great Walk

This is a 55km tramp that crosses over the Paparoa Ranges, taking you through alpine tops, limestone landscapes & thriving rainforests with breath-taking views in all directions.

Pororari Track

Beginning at the Punakaiki end of the Paparoa Great Walk, this walk can be as long as you want it to be, anywhere from 1 - 6 hours.

Blackball Salami

Here you'll find a supurb array of quality NZ meat products, offering MSG & gluten free products.

Brunner Mine Site

This is one of the country's earliest industrial sites where coal was mined. Explore the area, walk across the bridge & enjoy the 2km walk around historic coke ovens, brick factory & the remains of tunnel entrances.

Lake Brunner

40km out of Greymouth you'll find Lake Brunner, where there's something for everyone. Go for a bush walk, cross the swingbridge to walk lakeside or enjoy a dip in the lake.
